Abstract
Un dispositivo de capas multiples, transparente, el cual refleja luz en la region infrarroja en el espectro y transmite a la vez luz en la region visible del espectro, que comprende una película polimérica de capas multiples y un conductor transparente. La película polimérica de capas multiples preferiblemente comprende capas de un poliéster de ácido naftalen dicarboxílico semicristalino que tiene un espesor promedio no mayor de 0.5 micrones y capas de un segundo polímero que tienen un espesor promedio no mayor de 0.5 micrones. Las capas de poliéster de ácido naftalen dicarboxílico semicristalino preferiblemente tienen un coeficiente optico de esfuerzo positivo. El conductor transparente comprende al menos una capa que contiene un metal o un compuesto metálico en el cual el compuesto metálico se selecciona preferiblemente del grupo que consiste de oxidos de metal, aleaciones de metal, y combinaciones de los mismos. Los conductores transparentes particularmente preferidos son de plata y oxido de indio y estaño. Los dispositivos de capas multiples, transparentes, pueden aplicarse a la superficie de un sustrato de vidrio plástico, tal como una ventana exterior en un edificio, o a un parabrisas o ventana en un automovil, camion o aeroplano.
