Abstract

La presente invencion describe un proceso catalítico para la preparacion de 3-(metiltio) propanal y 2-hidroxi-4-(metiltio)butanonitrilo, usando catalizadores de adicion novedosos. Los catalizadores de adicion novedosos incluyen: triisopropanlamina, nicotinamida, imidazol, bencimidazol, 2-fluoropiridina, picolina, pirazina, trialquilaminas que tienen desde tres a dieciocho átomos de carbono en cadauno de los substituyentes de alquilo unidos al átomo de nitrogeno, y aminas terciarias que tienen la formula (I), en donde A es arilo, R1 y R2 son alquilo, y x, a, b y c son enteros tales que 0 <- x <- 3, a<- a <- 3, 0 <- b <- 2, 0 <- c <- 2, siempre que a + b + c = 3.
