Abstract

Se carga N-fosfonometilglicina o ácido glifosato solido en forma de "torta humeda" en una mezcladora/rector adecuado; se alimenta un wquivalente estequiométrico de amoníaco gaseoso anhidro a la mezcladora para su reccion directa con el ácido glifosato a medida que se agita dentro de la mezcladora; se adapta a la mezcladora una camisa de agua que contiene agua en circulacion u otro medio adecuado de transferencia térmica conocido en el arte y se alutiliza para eliminar el calor producida por la reaccion exotérmica del reactor; el contenido de humedad de la torta humeda de glifosato, el diseño de la mezcladora que incluye una tolerancia estrecha entre las paredes internas del reactor y sus umpulsores de mezcla junto con la ubicacion relativa de la entrada de amoníaco gaseoso en la mezcladora/reactor y el mantenimiento de una temperatura de reaccion de aproximadamente 60gc o menos, son todas variables importantes del proceso; el glifosato de amonio obtenido en agua altamente abserbente y adsorbente, adecuado para su utilizacion final como regulador del crecimiento vegetal o como herbicida sin necesidad de procesamiento ulterior; a causa de sus carcterísticas de gran obsorbencia y adsirbebcu, sin embargo, el producto se adapta especialmente para su formulacion adicional para absrber/adsorber un nivel excepcionalmente elevado de coadyuvantes tales como agentes humectantes, agentes anti-espuma y, en particular, agentes tensioctivos.
