Abstract
Se presenta imágenes estereoscopicas utilizando la así llamada proyeccion de "ojo alterno" mientras se bloquean los ojos respectivos del observador en forma alterna y en sincronia con la exhibicion de manera que el ojo izquierdo del observador ve solamente imágenes de ojo izquierdo y el ojo derecho ve unicamente imágenes de ojo derecho. El bloqueo se efectua utilizado obturadores de cristal liquido electro-opticos cada una de los cuales tiene un filtro polarizable lineal frontal con un eje definido de polarizacion. Los abturadores respectivos para los dos ojos del observador están orientados de manera que los ejes definidos de polarizacion están en un ángulo uno con respecto a otro. Las imágenes proyectadas están linealmente polarizadas de manera que las imágenes de ojo izquierdo están polarizadas a lo largo de un eje que es paralelo al eje definido del obturador electro-optico para el ojo izquierdo del observador y las imágenes de ojo derechos son polarizadas a lo largo de un eje paralelo el eje definido del obturador electro-optico para el ojo derecho del observador. La invencion reduce significativamente la formacion de fantasma perceptible inclusive cuando de proyectan imágenes de alto contraste, tales como figuras obscuras contra fondo blanco.
