Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.左目画像および右目画像を連続して交互に表示し、この交互の画像表示と同 期して各電気光学液晶シャッタを用いて左目画像が表示された時には観察者の右 目を遮り、右目画像が表示された時には観察者の左目を遮り、各シャッタは第1 偏光軸を有する前方直線偏光フィルタと、この第1軸に対して一定角度をなす第 2偏光軸を有する後方偏光フィルタとを有している、立体画像の表示方法におい て、 各液晶シャッタは、各前方直線偏光フィルタの第1偏光軸が互いに一定角度を 成すように方向付けられており、 スクリーン上に画像を投影し、投影された光を左目画像が観察者の左目用の電 気光学シャッタの第1軸に平行な軸に沿って偏光され、また、右目画像が観察者 の右目用の電気光学シャッタの第1軸に平行な軸に沿って偏光されるように直線 偏光することによって画像が表示される方法。 2.各液晶シャッタが、各前方直線偏光フィルタの第1偏光軸が互いに直交する ように方向付けられ、投影された左目画像および右目画像も互いに直交した軸に 沿って偏光される請求項1に記載の方法。 3.左目画像および右目画像を別々の投影レンズを通って投影し、各レンズの正 面に各偏光フィルタを配置して直線偏光する請求項1に記載の方法。 4.左目画像および右目画像を連続して交互に表示する手段と、各電気光学液晶 シャッタを用いて交互画像の表示と同期して左目画像が表示された時には観察者 の右目を遮り、右目画像が表示された時には観察者の左目を遮る手段とを有し、 各シャッタは第1偏光軸を有する前方直線偏光フィルタと、第1軸に対して一定 角度をなす第2偏光軸を有する後方偏光フィルタとを有し、液晶シャッタは各前 方直線偏光フィルタの第1偏光軸が互いに一定角度をなすように方向付けられて いる立体画像の表示装置において、 左目画像および右目画像を連続して交互に表示する手段が、スクリーン上に画 像を投影する手段と、左目画像が観察者の左目用の電気光学シャッタの第1軸に 平行な軸に沿って偏光され、また、右目画像が観察者の右目用の電気光学シャッ タの第1軸に平行な軸に沿って偏光されるように、投影光を直線偏光する手段を 有する表示装置。 5.各液晶シャッタが各前方直線偏光フィルタの第1偏光軸が互いに直交するよ うに方向付けされ、投影された左目画像および右目画像も互いに直交な軸に沿っ て偏光される請求項4に記載の装置。 6.左目画像および右目画像が別々の投影レンズを通って投影され、レンズの正 面に設けた各偏光フィルタによって直線偏光される請求項4に記載の装置。 7.左目画像および右目画像を連続して表示する左目レンズおよび右目レンズを 有し、各レンズは第1偏光軸を有する前方直線偏光フィルタと、第1軸に対して 一定角度を成す第2偏光軸を有する後方偏光フィルタとを有する電気光学的名な 液晶シャッタを有し、液晶シャッタは各前方直線偏光フィルタの第1偏光軸が互 いに一定角度をなすように方向付けられている、立体画像を見るための眼鏡。
