Abstract
Se describe un proceso para la preparacion de ésteres de 4,4'-estilbenedicarboxilato por un proceso de 4 etapas que comienza con un p-formilbenzoato de alquilo y utilizando los compuestos intermediario de fosfito y fosfonato. Las etapas comprenden: (1) preparar un p-(hidroximetil)benzoato de alquilo un p(hidroximetil)benzoato de alquilo; (2) poner en contacto el p(hidroximetil)benzoato de alquilo de la etapa (1) con un fosfito de trialquilo para obtener un compuesto del éster de fosfito que tiene la formula (IV); (3) poner en contacto el éster de fosfito de la etapa (2) con una cantidad catalítica de yodo para rearreglar el éster de fosfito al éster de fosfonato correspondiente; y (4) poner en contacto el compuesto del éster de fosfonato de la etapa (3) con un p-formilbenzoato de alquilo, en la presencia de un alcoxido de metal alcalino y un solvente inerte para obtener el 4,4'-estilbenedicarboxilato de dialquilo.
