A process for preparing organophosphorus ester compound featuring: esterifying the reaction mixture (M1) obtained from the reaction of dichlorphosphine derivative (a) shown in formula (1) (where R1 is hydrcarbyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms) and (methyl)acrylic acid (b) by monohydric alcohol; neutralizing the reaction mixture (M2) with the solid or aqueous solution of alkali metal of hydrogen peroxide or alkali earth metal of hydrogen peroxide (d), the amount of (d) used keeps the equivalent ratio of [hydrochloric acid in (M2) +(b)]/(d) in the range of 1/(0.8 ~ 1), and refining the mixture by filtering or separation to obtain organophosphorus alkyl ester compound represented by formula (2) (wherein R1 is hydrocarbyl having 1 ~ 18 carbon atoms; R2 is hydrogen or methyl; R3 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 ~ 4 carbon atoms; R4 is alkyl having 1~4 carbon atoms).
