Abstract

Esta invencion se refiere a un procedimiento mejorado para la preparacion del ácido 5-metilcroman-6-carboxílico, un producto intermedio util en la preparacion de diacilhidrazinas que contienen croman, las cuales son insecticidas utiles, por la reaccion de un éster de Hagermann con un derivado de propargilo, en la presencia de una base y un solvente, para producir un éter de propargilo, rearreglar este éter de propargilo mediante la aplicacion de calor, estando presente un catalizador adecuado, con o sin un solvente, para producir un compuesto de tipoéter cíclico con un catalizador, en un solvente adecuado, para producir un éster croman. Los ésteres de propargilo y los compuestos de tipo éter cíclico producidos mediante el proceso de la presente invencion son novedosos.
