Abstract

Una sonda de inmersion para insertarse en metal fundido comprende una cabeza de medicion generalmente cilíndrica que tiene un eje de un primer extremo axial que es ahusada hacia adentro hacia el eje. La cabeza de medicion está hecha de una combinacion de materiales que tienen una densidad combinada mayor que la densidad del metal fundido. Un alambre de salida se extiende hacia afuera desde la cabeza de medicion y tiene un extremo eléctricamente conectado al elemento detector. Una porcion del alambre de salida que se extiende hacia afuera desde la cabeza de medicion es preferiblemente cubierta por un manguito protector de material resistente al calor. En una modalidad preferida, la tapa para escoria y la cabeza de medicion están cubiertas con un material ablativo para evitar la adherencia de escoria. También en una modalidad preferida, el alambre de salida y al manguito detector están espiralmente enrollados sobre un tubo de soporte de alambre de salida que conecta al segundo extremo axial de la cabeza de medicion.
