Abstract

Una sonda de inmersión (10) por caída para ser introducida en el metal fundido comprende una cabeza de medición (12) de forma generalmente cilíndricay que tiene un eje y un primer extremo axil que se conifica en dirección hacia el eje. Lacabeza de medición (12) está hecha de una combinación demateriales cuya masa específica combinada tiene un valor mayor que el del metal fundido. Un elemento sensor se extiende hacia afuera desde el primerextremo axil de la cabeza de medición (12) en la proximidad del eje, y una tapa de escoria (56) cubre el primer extremo de la cabeza de medición (12) y elelemento sensor. Un alambre guiador (32) se extiende hacia afuera desde la cabeza de medición (12) y tiene un extremo conectado eléctricamente al elementosensor. Una porción del alambre guiador que se extiende hacia afuera desde la cabeza de medición (12) está preferiblemente cubierto con un manguito protectorde material resistente al calor. En una realización preferida, la tapa de escoria (56) en la cabeza de medición (12) está cubierta con un materialablativo que impide la adherencia de la escoria. También en una realización preferida el alambre guiador (32) y el manguito protector (34) están enrolladosen espiral alrededor de un tubo de soporte (14) de alambre guiador (32) que está en contacto con el segundo extremo axil de la cabeza de medición (12).
