Abstract

Se describe un monitor de bajo costo que incluye dos comparadores que están adaptados para formar un comparador de ventana que estructura un intervalo de operacion normal de transformador láser. Un aparato para la generacion de un voltaje monitor de cara posterior, amplificado, que corresponde al nivel de potencia de salida optica del transmisor láser, ésta acoplado al comparador de ventana. Un voltaje de referencia es también acoplado al comparador de ventana, el cual define el umbral superior del intervalo normal de operacion. Una fuente de voltaje variable, controlable, está acoplada al comparador de ventana y se usa para definir el umbral inferior del intervalo de operacion normal, dondeéste intervalo inferior tiene dos valores de umbral asociados, como se describe anteriormente. El umbral inferior es iniciado al primer valor de umbral, el cual corresponde a un estado de operacion de fin de vida del transmisor láser. Cuando las señales de voltaje monitor de cara posterior es igual o cae por debajo del primer valor de umbral, se genera una señal de alarma mediante el monitor láser, y la fuente de voltaje variable, controlable, es conmutada a un segundo estado para proporcionar un segundo valor de umbral, el cual corresponde al estado de operacion fallida del transmisor láser. Conforme continua declinado el nivel de potencia de salida optica con el tiempo y la temperatura, éste cae eventualmente por debajo del segundo umbral, y se genera una segunda señal de alarma para indicar la falla de láser. Un amplificador de instrumentacion de ganancia variable está acoplado al aparato de generacion, y se utiliza para medir la potencia de salida optica del transmisor láser.
