Abstract

Se da a conocer un elemento enrollado en espiral mejorado para separaciones en donde la mejora comprende usar como el espacio para el material de alimentación/retenido una o más capas de un material que tienen un área en sección transversal abierta dentro de la escala de 30 por ciento a 70 por ciento como el material separador de permeación en por lo menos tres capas de material, dos de las cuales son finas y tienen un área en sección transversal abierta de aproximadamente 10 por ciento a 50 por ciento que rodea una capa gruesa que tiene un área de sección transversal abierta de aproximadamente 50 por ciento a 90 por ciento. Los elementos de esta configuración exhiben funcionamiento de separación de elementos casi equivalente a aquella obtenida usando solamente la membrana. Estos elementos son útiles en osmosis inversa, ultrafiltración, prevaporación y otros procesos de separación en los cuales se mantiene un gradiente de presión a través de la membrana hacia una zona de permeación.
