Abstract

Un aparato y método mejorado para al fabricación de carbón activado, donde una materia prima carbonácea impregnada con un agente de activación química, es tratada mediante el control del índice de transferencia de calor hacia las partículas, por medio de calentamiento indirecto del horno de activación y se introduce simultáneamente un flujo de gas de barrido independientemente controlado, a intervalos espaciados, a lo largo de la trayectoria del recorrido de las partículas a través del horno, para controlar de una manera mas precisa la reacción de activación y el nivel de densificación de las partículas durante ciertas etapas del tratamiento. en una modalidad más preferida, las partículas se procesan en una pluralidad de etapas de tratamiento relacionadas con el índice de evolución de agua y/ó con la evolución del agua y del agente de activación química, y se controlan estrechamente los índices de transferencia de calor y el índice de flujo por volumen del gas de barrido en relación con el alcance de niveles previamente determinados de densificación de las partículas durante cada etapa del tratamiento, y niveles seleccionados de propiedades de activación en el producto final.
