Abstract

Un dispositivo de despliegue visual (10) es especialmente adecuado para utilizarse como una luz de detención montada en el centro superior (LDMCS) para la ventana trasera de un automóvil, la cual se inclina hacia adentro desde la horizontal por un pequeño ángulo. El dispositivo (10) incluye una fuente de la luz lineal (12), que de preferencia emite luz roja, un tablero de despliegue visual (14), tiene un borde de recepción de luz (14a) que se extiende paralelo y adyacente a la fuente de luz (12), y primera y segunda superficies opuestas (14b, 14c). La segunda superficie (14b) se inclina hacia la primera superficie (14c) en una dirección que se aleja del borde (14a), y se forma con escalones (14d) que tienen paredes (14e) que están angulados hacia el borde (14a), de tal manera que la luz de salida pico que se propaga a través del tablero de despliegue visual (14) desde el borde (14a), se refracta horizontalmente hacia afuera del tablero (14). Las paredes (14e) de los escalones (14d) se forman con depresiones lateralmente espaciadas (14f) para la dispersión lateral de la luz. En adición a utilizarse como una LDMCS, el dispositivo de despliegue visual (10) se puede emplear en otras aplicaciones en las cuales se requiera una fuente de luz lineal uniforme.
