Abstract

Un método para procesar desechos plásticos y/o caucho para generar gas energético que comprende hidrocarburos alifáticos C1-C4, óxido de carbono e hidrógeno, en donde el desecho puede comprender halógenos, azufre, nitrógeno y oxígeno y puede ser contaminado por sustancias de origen inorgánico que comprende materiales de cerámica y metálicos, el método comprende procesar el desecho en un proceso de pirolisis, en donde un material de desecho en polvo se alimenta a un reactor de tambor de microondas (102), en donde se calienta por microondas mientras es movido a través del reactor (102), el método comprende: llevar a cabo la reacción de pirolisis dentro del reactor (102) a una temperatura de 800 - 950oC para obtener productos finales que comprenden gases, polvo y un carbón poroso de un área de superficie grande que tiene propiedades de absorción; separar el carbón de los otros productos de pirolisis por deposición; dirigir una porción, preferiblemente un cuarto, de carbón obtenido a un filtro (105); dirigir el polvo y gases a un aparato enfriador de gas (103) que comprende al menos dos transportadores de tornillo sincronizados, en donde los gases son enfriados a una temperatura de 120 -160oC y en donde el polvo y el condesado se dirigen al filtro (105) lleno con el carbón; y alimentar de vuelta la mezcla de carbón, condesado y polvo del filtro (105) al reactor de microondas (102).
