Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una matriz sólida para la extracción, estabilización y almacenamiento de los ácidos nucleicos. Al menos un desnaturalizante de proteína y al menos un ácido o reactivo regulador de ácido titulado están impregnados en un estado seco de esta matriz; y la matriz se configura para proporcionar un pH acídico durante la hidratación. La matriz se configura para extraer ácidos nucleicos a partir de una muestra y estabiliza los ácidos nucleicos extraídos, particularmente ARN, en un formato seco bajo condiciones ambiente por un periodo de tiempo prolongado. También se describen los métodos para recolectar y recuperar los ácidos nucleicos almacenados en la matriz sólida seca.
