Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un proceso para aumentar la resistencia a la fusión de una resina de polietileno que comprende: a) seleccionar una resina de polietileno que tiene: i) una densidad, determinada de acuerdo con ASTM D792, en el intervalo de 0.865 g/cm3 a 0.97 g/cm3, y ii) un índice de fusión, I2, determinado de acuerdo con ASTM D1238 (2.16 kg, 190°C), en el intervalo de 0.01 g/10 minutos a 100 g/10 minutos; b) hacer reaccionar de 10 ppm a 1,000 ppm de por lo menos un peróxido que tiene una temperatura de descomposición semivida de 1 hora de 160°C a 250°C con la resina de polietileno bajo condiciones suficientes para aumentar la resistencia a la fusión de la resina de polietileno. También se proporcionan una composición de mezcla madre y una composición polimérica.
