Abstract
La invención se refiere a un separador poroso depositado en el cuerpo del cátodo de una celda electroquímica de diafragma, caracterizada por un perfil de rugosidad predefinido obtenido mediante succión por vacío de una suspensión que contiene fibras y un material paniculado opcional. El grado de vacío se ajusta de forma continua en función del porcentaje de material depositado, preferentemente por medio de una unidad central de procesamiento que actúa sobre el flujo de suspensión. El perfil de porosidad que se va a obtener se selecciona dependiendo de la composición de la suspensión y de las condiciones de funcionamiento industriales previstas. El separador poroso puede estar formado por la superposición de una multiplicidad de niveles de fibras poliméricas, que comprenden poros principales generados por la interconexión de una multiplicidad de intersticios principales entre dichas fibras, teniendo el tamaño de dichos poros principales un valor promedio de 2 a 10 pm con una desviación estándar no mayor de un 50 % de dicho valor promedio.
