Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para ayudar en el diagnóstico de síndrome de intestino irritable (IBS) en un sujeto, el método se caracteriza porque comprende: medir el nivel de una disposición de al menos dos marcadores de anticuerpos contra antígenos bacterianos en una muestra biológica tomada del sujeto, en donde al menos un marcador de la disposición es E. coli FliC; aplicar un análisis estadístico al nivel medio de la disposición de marcadores de anticuerpos contra antígenos bacterianos para general un perfil de marcadores de anticuerpos contra antígenos bacterianos; y comparar el perfil de marcadores de anticuerpos contra antígenos bacterianos con un modelo de diagnóstico para determinar si el individuo tiene mayor probabilidad de tener IBS en comparación con ser un control sano.
