Abstract

Un artículo de empaque térmicamente encogible tiene uno o más iniciadores de rasgadura para iniciar una rasgadura manual que se puede propagar para abrir un paquete y permitir que un producto sea removido fácilmente del mismo, sin el uso de un cuchillo o tijeras o cualquier otro implemento. Los iniciadores e rasgadura están presentes en un faldón y/o saliente del articulo. El faldón y/o saliente tiene un primer lado y un segundo lado. En una modalidad, algo o todo el primer lado del faldón y/o saliente se puede endurecer con calor a fin de reducir el encogimiento y rizado del faldón y/o saliente. Esto mejora la identificación y utilización de los iniciadores de rasgadura por un consumidor durante el encogimiento del artículo empacado alrededor del producto. En otra modalidad, el faldón y/o saliente tiene una pluralidad de pares de iniciadores de rasgadura para permitir que porciones del paquete que se va a rasgar expongan una porción del producto que puede entonces rebanarse fuera mientras que el resto del producto empacado permanece cubierto por un resto de la película.
