Abstract

Se describen métodos basados en computadora y sistemas de computadora asociados para diseñar superficies (13) ópticas reflejantes de espacio libre para uso en pantallas montadas en la cabeza (HMD). La superficie (13) óptica reflejante produce una imagen virtual de una superficie (11) de pantalla para ser observada por el ojo (15) de un usuario. El método incluye utilizar una o más computadoras para: (i) representar la superficie (11) de pantalla por objetos (25) de pantalla; (ii) representar la superficie (13) óptica reflejante de espacio libre por elementos (23) de superficie; y (iii) calcular repetitivamente ubicaciones espaciales, normales y radios de curvatura para los elementos (23) de superficie los cuales provocarán una imagen virtual de cada objeto (25) de pantalla que se va a mostrar a un ojo (15) de usuario nominal en una dirección deseada de la mirada del ojo (15).
