Abstract
Un centro y método de maquinado multiaxial sin husillo para formar una pieza usando una herramienta de corte no rotatoria para eliminar material de una pieza de trabajo no rotatoria dentro de una gama de movimientos tridimensional. El centro de maquinado sin husillo hace obsoleto el uso de las fresadoras para las operaciones de perfilado sin la necesidad de rotar la herramienta de corte para producir suficiente par de torsión para eliminar el material. En cambio, la herramienta de corte aplica una fuerza de corte lineal a la pieza de trabajo a lo largo de un recorrido de corte mono, bi o tridimensional con suficiente impacto para eliminar material mediante factura controlada en lugar de deformación plástica. También, sin la necesidad de rotar, ni la herramienta de corte ni la pieza de trabajo son constreñidas en forma mediante simetría axial. Por lo tanto es posible producir piezas sin restricciones de forma con elevadas tasas de eliminación de material y acabados de superficie más finos que mediante fresado o torneado.
