Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento mejorado para el curado de polimeros insaturados con un titanato de alquilo caracterizado porque se mezclan 100 partespor peso del elastómero con 1 a 10 partes por peso de un éster de titanato orgánico, la mezcla que resulta es materialmente anhidra y contiene menos de un mol del compuesto hidroxi orgánico no volátil por mol del éster de titanato, exponiendo la mezcla resultante a la atmósfera, por lo cual el elastómero insaturado se cura por la acción del éster de titanato orgánico; el elastómero insaturado se selecciona del grupo que constade hule natural, un elastómero de cris-poliisopreno sintético, un elastómero de polibutadieno, un hule de copolímero de butadieno y estireno, un hule de copolímero de butadieno y acrilonitrilo, un hule de terpolímero de etileno, propileno y 5-etilideno-2-norboneno, que tiene un número de yodo mayor de 8, un hule de policloropreno y un hule de copolímero de isobutileno e isopreno; el éster de titanato de tetraalquilo y titanato de tetraarilo.
