Rubber is vulcanized using a mixture of (a) 1-5% by weight of the rubber of a mixture of dibenzthiazyl disulphide and a compound of the general formula in which R 1 and R 2 are hydrocarbon radicals or together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a heterocyclic ring which may contain further hetero atoms; (b) 0À1 to 2% by weight of the rubber of a compound of the general formula in which R 3 and R 4 represent hydrogen atoms or hydrocarbon radicals, or together complete a heterocyclic ring; and (c) 0 to 0À5% by weight of the rubber of sulphur.
