Abstract
Una férula para un conector de fibra óptica de alta densidad, que soporta un primer grupo de fibras ópticas de un primer cable de fibra y un segundo grupo de fibras ópticas de un segundo cable de fibra. La férula soporta el primer y segundo grupos de fibras ópticas en al menos un plano. En una modalidad, el primer grupo de fibras ópticas es soportado en una primera fila de ranuras abiertas, y el segundo grupo de fibras ópticas es soportado en una segunda fila de ranuras abiertas. Las fibras ópticas en la primera fila están escalonadas con respecto a las fibras ópticas de la segunda fila. La férula comprende dos mitades, cada una que tiene una estructura abierta que tiene una fila de ranuras abiertas formada de manera precisa sobre ésta en un plano. En otra modalidad, la férula soporta el primer y segundo grupos de fibras ópticas en una fila individual, en una forma de intercalación alterna.
