Abstract
Están descritos los métodos y aparatos para descontaminación de productos protectores desechables preparados de alcohol de polivinilo (PVA) empleados en una planta de energía nuclear a menos que la actividad detectable mínima (MDA). En los métodos y aparatos descritos, los productos protectores sólidos hechos de alcohol de polivinilo, generados desde una planta de energía nuclear, son disueltos en un líquido, y después son descontaminados a menos de una actividad detectable mínima. La solución de alcohol de polivinilo descontaminada en esta manera es concentrada a una concentración apropiada o secada, y finalmente sometida a otro desecho. Esto puede bloquear fundamentalmente la generación de cantidad de desperdicio de combustible llena una cantidad de 50 por ciento más de desperdicio de nivel bajo e intermedio de plantas de energía nuclear, contribuyendo por tanto considerablemente a una reducción de los costos de operación de las plantas de energía nuclear. La presente invención además se refiere a métodos y aparatos del auto-desecho de productos protectores desechables fabricados mediante alcohol de polivinilo convencional (PVA) a través de la oxidación catalítica/pirólisis de una solución de alcohol de polivinilo generada por la concentración y el tratamiento de la solución de alcohol de polivinilo contaminada dentro de la planta. Los productos protectores de alcohol de polivinilo son disueltos/concentrados/oxidados en agua para remover primero la materia orgánica, y después los materiales de alcohol de polivinilo en la solución de alcohol de polivinilo son completamente oxidados en CO2 y H2O, mediante el uso de un reactor de oxidación catalítico/pirálisis de tamaño pequeño.
