Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso mejorado para disminuir la emisión de SO3 de gases de escape de una planta de ácido sulfúrico, en que los gases de escapes procedentes de la planta se tratan en absorbedores y/o limpiadores y luego se llevan a un sistema de eliminación de la neblina para eliminar la neblina de ácido sulfúrico, inyectando para ello en un tanque los gases de escape, haciendo pasar los gases de escape a través de unidades de eliminación y sacando después del tanque los gases de escape, la mejora está caracterizada porque cuando el sistema de eliminación de la neblina se halla en estado de sobrecarga, se rocía ácido sulfúrico líquido sobre la superficie exterior de las unidades eliminadoras de la neblina con el fin de saturarlas de tal modo que el SO3 gaseoso sea absorbido al entrar en contacto con las unidades eliminadoras de la neblina.
