Abstract
Se proporcionan dispositivos de suministro de fármacos y métodos de administración de fármacos a pacientes. Un dispositivo (50) incluye un depósito (60) que contiene un fármaco (58). El depósito (60) está definido por una pared (64) que tiene una parte permeable al agua, de forma tal que la parte permeable al agua permita que ingrese agua en el dispositivo (50) y que esta entre en contacto con el fármaco (58). Un tapón de restricción (56) cierra una abertura del dispositivo (50) de forma tal que se formen microcanales transitorios (62) entre una parte elástica (54) del dispositivo (50) y el tapón de restricción (56), a partir de la generación de una presión suficiente dentro del depósito (60), para liberar el fármaco (58) del dispositivo (50). También se describen métodos de tratamiento para pacientes con hiperactividad neurogénica del detrusor en pacientes como resultado de una lesión de la médula espinal y/o incontinencia urinaria y vejiga hiperactiva idiopática.
