Abstract
Una composición para fabricar un núcleo para su uso en un proceso de moldeo o fundición, un núcleo que comprende dicha composición y un molde para producir un artículo mediante fundición a presión a alta presión o fundición semisólida. La composición comprende un material refractario en partículas, una composición aglutinante que comprende al menos un polímero hidrofílico, que comprende al menos un polisacárido o derivado de polisacárido; y al menos un aditivo puzolánico. El molde comprende un núcleo para definir una cavidad interna del artículo y el núcleo comprende una composición de núcleo solidificada. La composición del núcleo solidificado comprende un material refractario en partículas y una composición aglutinante, se degrada en agua de tal manera que un cilindro de la composición del núcleo solidificado que tiene una altura máxima de 80 mm y un diámetro máximo de 50 mm se desintegra en no más de 10 minutos cuando se sumerge en agua a una temperatura de 20 °C y agitada a una velocidad de 60 rpm, y tiene una resistencia a la flexión de al menos 300 N/cm2. La invención también reside en un método para producir un artículo mediante fundición a presión a alta presión o fundición semisólida.
