Abstract
Un sistema y un método para separar continuamente dióxido de carbono a partir de mezclas gaseosas, utilizando un circuito continuo de monolitos porosos que soportan un absorbente dentro de sus poros. Se expone continuamente una porción del circuito continuo de monolitos a un flujo de mezcla gaseosa que contiene una proporción menor de dióxido de carbono, para adsorber dióxido de carbono a partir del flujo. El circuito pasa a través de un ensamble sellado de regeneración y de captura de dióxido de carbono situado en ambos lados sobre una porción del circuito, y que es capaz de contener, de manera herméticamente cerrada, un monolito en movimiento relativo a través del ensamble. La cámara de ensamble comprende una pluralidad de zonas selladas por separado, incluyendo por lo menos una zona para purgar el oxígeno de los monolitos, una zona subsecuente para calentar el monolito para liberar el dióxido de carbono adsorbido, y otra zona de enfriamiento para enfriar el monolito antes de reingresar en la porción de adsorción del circuito, donde se expone al oxígeno.
