Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a plantas resistentes al virus del marchitamiento moteado del tomate, o TSWV, y especialmente a plantas del género Cichorium tal como achicoria de hoja, escarola, achicoria, escarola belga, escarola francesa y endibia. La invención se refiere además a métodos para identificar y proporcionar las presentes plantas usando secuencias de ácido nucleico genómico identificadas en la presente. Específicamente, la presente invención se refiere a plantas que son resistentes al virus del marchitamiento manchado del tomate, o TSWV, en donde las plantas comprenden un primer fragmento genómico que proporciona resistencia el cual comprende una o más secuencias de ácido nucleico seleccionadas del grupo que consiste de SEQ ID No. 2, SEQ ID No. 4, SEQ ID No. 6, SEQ ID No. 8, SEQ ID No. 10, SEQ ID No. 12, SEQ ID No. 14, SEQ ID No. 16, SEQ ID No. 18, SEQ ID No. 20, SEQ ID No. 22, SEQ ID No. 24 y SEQ ID No. 26.
