Abstract

Se proporciona un sistema para monitoreo del uso de equipo de freno de vagón de ferrocarril para determinar si la esperanza de vida funcional del equipo de frenos es más corta que una esperanza de vida esperada que tiene el equipo de frenos que ha sido usado bajo parámetros normales o constantes. El sistema incluye un sensor para recolectar y transmitir datos indicando de que manera el equipo de frenos ha sido usado en realidad. Se programa un controlador para recibir los datos respecto a la manera en que se ha usado el componente de sistema de frenos y para calcular si el componente de sistema de frenos tiene una esperanza de vida funcional estimada que sea más corta que la esperanza de vida funcional esperada. El sensor puede comprender un sensor de temperatura ambiente, un sensor de flujo que determina el aire usado por el sistema de frenado que incluye al componente de sistema de frenos y/o un sensor de presión que puede determinar que tan frecuentemente y de que manera se ha usado el sistema de frenos.
