Abstract

Composición de aislamiento térmico a base de granulados de sílice La presente invención se refiere a: - una composición de aislamiento térmico, que contiene de 5 a 60 % en peso de un material granular hidrofobizado que comprende sílice pirógena y al menos un opacificante de infrarrojos, y de 40 a 95 % en peso de un aglutinante inorgánico y/u orgánico, por lo cual el material granular hidrofobizado tiene un contenido de grupos hidroxilo libres de no más de 0,12 mmol/g según lo determinado por la reacción con hidruro de litio y aluminio. - el uso de esta composición para el aislamiento térmico y/o acústico de paredes, techos, viviendas, plantas industriales, partes de aparatos industriales, tuberías. - dos procedimientos alternativos para producir una composición de aislamiento térmico, que comprende los siguientes pasos: a) mezclar una sílice pirógena hidrofílica con al menos un opacificante de infrarrojos; b) densificar la mezcla obtenida en el paso a) para dar un material granular hidrofílico; c-1) someter el material granular hidrofílico producido en el paso b) a tratamiento térmico a una temperatura de 200 a 1200°C; O c-2) tratar el material granular hidrofílico producido en el paso b) con amoníaco; d) hidrofobizar el material granular hidrofílico sometido a tratamiento térmico o químico en el paso c) con un agente hidrofobizante para obtener un material granular hidrofobizado; e) mezclar el material granular hidrofobizado producido en el paso d) con un aglutinante inorgánico y/u orgánico.
