El panel sándwich compuesto incluye un núcleo, una primera capa termoplástica aplicada a un primer lado del núcleo y una segunda capa termoplástica aplicada a un segundo lado del núcleo. El núcleo se proporciona en forma de una tabla de ondas de formada de fibra natural. También se proporciona un proceso para manufacturar un panel sándwich compuesto. El proceso comprende extrudir una primera y una segunda capas termoplásticas en láminas planas respectivas, formar una estera fibrosa natural consolidada y moldear la estera fibrosa natural consolidada en un núcleo consolidado con una geometría predeterminada. La primera y la segunda capas termoplásticas, así como el núcleo consolidado, son calentados a una temperatura predeterminada de moldeo. El núcleo consolidado calentado es colocado entre las primera y segunda capas termoplásticas calentadas, y el conjunto es moldeado en una prensa de moldeo para obtener una forma deseada determinada por diseño de producto.
