Abstract
Una estructura de revestimiento refractario (18) para un recipiente metalúrgico se caracteriza por al menos una junta de expansión alargada (50) formada y que se extiende a través de la superficie del revestimiento de trabajo en una dirección sustancialmente vertical; la junta de expansión alargada acomoda la expansión térmica del revestimiento de trabajo (20) en un recipiente metalúrgico tal como, por ejemplo, una artesa durante el precalentamiento para una operación de colada continua; la junta de expansión alargada disminuye la formación de grietas, la delaminación y el desprendimiento del revestimiento de trabajo de los revestimientos de refuerzo subyacentes y/o revestimientos de seguridad en los recipientes metalúrgicos durante el precalentamiento y el uso, al tiempo que facilita la extracción del fondo de cuchara de metal después de la finalización de las operaciones metalúrgicas.
