Abstract
Una estructura de revestimiento refractario para un recipiente metalúrgico se caracteriza por al menos una junta de expansión alargada formada en la superficie del revestimiento de trabajo, y que se extiende a través de ella, en una dirección sustancialmente vertical. La junta de expansión alargada aloja la expansión térmica del revestimiento de trabajo en un recipiente metalúrgico tal como, por ejemplo, una artesa durante el precalentamiento para una operación de colada continua. La junta de expansión alargada reduce formación de grietas, delaminación, y el desprendimiento del revestimiento de trabajo de los revestimientos de refuerzo y/o revestimientos de seguridad subyacentes en los recipientes metalúrgicos durante el precalentamiento y el uso, facilitando al mismo tiempo la extracción de la escoria metálica una vez completas las operaciones metalúrgicas.
