Abstract
Un medio de filtrado para eliminar el contenido de contaminantes en fluidos, en donde dicho medio de filtrado incluye un polvo a base de hierro lavado con acido, en donde el polvo a base de hierro lavado con acido se forma al lavar un polvo a base de hierro en HCl, en donde el area de superficie de BET del polvo a base de hierro lavado con acido es por lo menos 1.2 m2/g, en donde el polvo a base de hierro lavado con acido tiene un contenido de Fe de por lo menos 90% en peso; y, un metodo para reducir el contenido de contaminantes en fluidos incluyendo los pasos de: a) proporcionar el medio de filtrado, b) poner uno o mas fluidos contaminados en contacto con el medio de filtrado para reducir el contenido de contaminantes en dicho uno o mas fluidos(s), c) eliminar opcionalmente el medio de filtrado de uno o mas fluidos con un contenido reducido de contaminantes.
