Abstract

Un método para procesar pixeles en una imagen de una secuencia de video que comprende varias imágenes comprende identificar un pixel que será procesado en la imagen para el cual una variación en una representación lineal de un color del pixel que sea más pequeña que un primer valor umbral dé como resultado un variación en una representación no lineal del color que sea más grande que un segundo valor umbral. La variación en la representación lineal del color también da como resultado una variación en una representación basada en la luminancia y la crominancia del color que es menor que un tercer valor umbral. El método también comprende procesar el pixel identificado modificando un valor de al menos un componente de color del pixel. El método logra una eliminación de ruido selectiva de componentes de color particulares en ciertas situaciones para reducir el costo de codificación pero no afecta significativamente la calidad visual.
