Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método y dispositivo para determinar la pérdida de ignición de al menos parte de un producto de hierro y acero (5), referido como el ``producto´´, durante el paso de tal producto a través de un horno calefactor (4) localizado corriente arriba de un desincrustante químico (8). Preferentemente, el producto se mueve sobre superficies de rodillo (3, 6). Tal dispositivo incluye un conjunto de sensores electromagnéticos (20, 30, 31, 40, 41). Tal conjunto incluye: - al menos un sensor electromagnético (20) del conjunto se coloca a fin de explorar, al menos parcialmente a lo largo de un plano de exploración, la superficie inferior (50) del producto (5) cerca de la salida del horno (4), orientándose tal sensor electromagnético a fin de que el plano de exploración (P20) de la radiación electromagnética, proveniente de tal sensor, sea perpendicular a una dirección de movimiento del producto; - un conjunto de al menos dos sensores electromagnéticos (30, 31) se coloca corriente arriba del desincrustante (8) y se orienta a fin de que los planos de exploración (P30, P31) de la radiación electromagnética, proveniente de los mismos, se encuentre substancialmente en un mismo plano (P32) perpendicular a la dirección de movimiento de tal por lo menos parte del producto que pasa por el generador de un rodillo de una superficie de rodillo (3); y - un conjunto de por lo menos dos sensores electromagnéticos (40, 41) colocados corriente abajo del desincrustante (8) y orientados a fin de que los planos de exploración (P40, P41) de la radiación electromagnética, proveniente de los mismos, se encuentre substancialmente sobre un solo plano (P42) perpendicular a la dirección de movimiento del producto que pasa por el generador de un rodillo de una superficie de rodillo (6). Tales sensores (30, 31, 40, 41) se colocan a fin de determinar la altura del producto corriente arriba y corriente abajo del desincrustante.
