Abstract

Un adhesivo termofusible termosellable con baja temperatura de activación para aplicaciones de envasado basado en una mezcla de un polímero poliolefínico catalizado por metaloceno, resina adherente, cera y otros aditivos opcionales. Con el fin de conseguir la alta viscosidad adecuada para una aplicación de termosellado por extrusión, la composición adhesiva de la invención presenta una carga muy elevada de polímero y, por tanto, debería tener una viscosidad de aproximadamente 50 000 centipoise o superior medida a una temperatura de 300 oF. Por consiguiente, la composición del adhesivo termofusible contiene de aproximadamente un 50% a aproximadamente un 90% en peso del polímero poliolefínico catalizado por metaloceno, de aproximadamente un 5% a aproximadamente un 50% en peso de la resina adherente, de aproximadamente un 0.5% a aproximadamente un 40% en peso de cera, de aproximadamente un 0.1% a aproximadamente un 5% en peso de un estabilizante o antioxidante y de un 0% a aproximadamente un 25% en peso de aditivos opcionales. La composición adhesiva termofusible debe tener una temperatura de activación de aproximadamente 160 oF o inferior, y proporcionar una fuerza de desprendimiento mínima de aproximadamente 1.0 libras por pulgada para satisfacer los requisitos de rendimiento de sellado para el envasado de comida y otros artículos de consumo.
