Abstract

La presente invención proporciona un cuerpo sinterizado de sialon y una pieza de inserción de corte que tiene resistencia a choque térmico y resistencia a desgaste VB. El cuerpo sinterizado de sialon y la pieza de inserción de corte contienen P-sialon y 21R-sialon y exhiben una relación de intensidad pico de difracción de rayos X (I21R/IA)x100] de 5% o mayor y menor que 30%, en donde IA representa la suma de las intensidades pica de las especies de sialon, e representa la intensidad pico de 21R-sialon, la relación que se calcula a partir de las intensidades pico de las especies de sialon obtenidas al utilizar difractometría de rayos X.
