Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la preparación de etilenglicol que comprende los pasos que consisten en pirolizar un monosacárido e hidrogenar una composición del producto en presencia de un catalizador y un solvente, en donde la presión de la reacción de hidrogenación es 40 bares o mayor.
