Abstract

Se proporciona un sistema de reactor que contiene uno o más reactores de bucle para polimerización de olefinas. Los reactores de bucle incluyen secciones verticales, secciones acodadas, y/o secciones horizontales conectadas en una o más zonas de reacción en bucle para polimerizar un monómero de olefina en presencia de un diluyente líquido en una suspensión que comprende partículas de un polímero de poliolefinas. El espacio que ocupa el sistema de reactor se reduce para aumentar la eficiencia de producción y ahorra costos, manteniendo al mismo tiempo una alta capacidad de procesamiento. En una realización una longitud horizontal (LH) de al menos una sección horizontal se reduce considerablemente con la capacidad de procesamiento mantenida. En otra realización, al menos una sección acodada del sistema de reactor está configurada para mantener un número Dean (Dn) de una suspensión que fluye en la misma para que sea mayor que 3.000.000.
