Abstract

Se divulga una composición de pretratamiento y un método para pretratar un sustrato de metal. El método comprende: (a) pretratar el sustrato de metal con un ion de metal del Grupo IV (b), seguido por (b) tratar el sustrato de (a) con una composición que comprende: (i) un ion de metal del Grupo IV (b), (ii) un ion de cobre, (iii) un ion de fluoruro, y (iv) un ácido organofosfónico, seguido por (c) electrodepositar una composición electrodepositable catiónica en el sustrato de metal.
