Abstract

Un método de formación de un fertilizante encapsulado comprende la etapa de suministro de una partícula de núcleo. La partícula de núcleo comprende un fertilizante y tiene una superficie externa. Un ejemplo del fertilizante es urea. El método también comprende la etapa de aplicación de un componente de isocianato directamente a la superficie externa de la partícula de núcleo. El componente de isocianato tiene grupos funcionales isocianato. Un ejemplo del componente de isocianato es un prepolímero terminado en isocianato. Un ejemplo específico del prepolímero terminado en isocianato es uno que comprende el producto de reacción de un diisocianato de difenilmetano (MDI) y un poliol. El método también comprende la etapa de reacción del componente de isocianato con humedad ambiente para formar una capa dispuesta sobre la partícula de núcleo para formar el fertilizante encapsulado.
