Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con composiciones acuosas de clarificador de agua usadas para demulsificar y clarificar las dispersiones y emulsiones de aceite-agua derivadas de las operaciones de la industria del petróleo. La composición acuosa del clarificador de agua comprende un polímero aniónico, un agente quelante, opcionalmente una base, y opcionalmente un alcohol. Específicamente, el polímero aniónico es una dispersión de látex de un polímero aniónico que comprende un polímero aniánico que comprende: A) 2 a 80 por ciento en peso de por lo menos un monómero de ácido carboxílico C3-C8, a,ß-etilénicamente insaturado; B) 15 a 80 por ciento en peso de por lo menos un monómero no iónico, copolimerizable a,ß-etilénicamente insaturado; C) 0 a 50 por ciento en peso de uno o más de los siguientes: monómeros: C1) por lo menos un éster de tensioactivo de vinilo rio iónico, o C2) por lo menos un monómero no iónico, copolimerizable, a, ß-etilénicamente insaturado que tiene cadenas de polímero más largas que el monómero B) o C3) por lo menos un monómero de uretano no iónico; y opcionalmente, D) 0 a 5 por ciento en peso de por lo menos un reticulador.
