Abstract
Se clonó una versión truncada del gen IVL2 de Saccharomyces cerevisiae que codifica una forma citosólica de la acetolactato sintasa, en un casete de expresión bajo el control de un promotor constitutivo fuerte del alcohol deshidrogenasa (ADH1). Se introdujo el plásmido en la cepa de S. cerevisiae y la cepa recombinante se ensayó para su capacidad de sobreproducir glicerol en condiciones anaeróbicas. Se demostró que la cepa recombinante se caracterizaba por una producción aumentada de glicerol y una producción disminuida de etanol en condiciones anaeróbicas.
