Se divulga un elemento deflector o de refuerzo (20) para sellar y/o reforzar una cavidad (C), en particular una cavidad de un vehículo, que comprende un elemento portador (21) y elemento extensible (25) soportado por el elemento portador, el elemento extensible que consiste de un material extensible (22), que incorpora una pluralidad de burbujas de gas (24) formando una estructura microcelular. Además se divulga el proceso de fabricación de este elemento deflector o de refuerzo y su uso.
