Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con composiciones y métodos para inhibir la corrosión de metales en contacto con un sistema acuoso. El método para inhibir la corrosión incluye mantener cantidades efectivas de (1) un polímero a base de amino ácido, tal como un compuesto de ácido poliaspártico, y (2) un compuesto de estaño dispersable y/o soluble en el sistema acuoso. Los componentes del inhibidor de corrosión del tratamiento pueden adicionarse simultánea o separadamente en el agua del sistema acuoso, es decir, proporcionados en un producto de tratamiento simple o como productos separados. El producto de tratamiento simple puede incluir el producto a base de amino ácido y un compuesto de estaño dispersable y/o soluble. Tal composición de inhibidor de corrosión también puede incluir, opcionalmente, un agente quelante de ácido policarboxílico y/o un copolímero funcional de carboxilato/sulfonato.
