Abstract

Un material continuo o género formado por hilatura de filamentos continuos incluye una pluralidad de fibras de polímero dentro del género, teniendo el género un primer espesor estando el género libre de cualquier tratamiento térmico o mecánico. La activación del género produce al menos uno de lo siguiente: un aumento del primer espesor antes de la activación a un segundo espesor después d la activación, en el que el segundo espesor es aproximadamente dos veces mayor que el primer espesor, una disminución en la densidad del género después de la activación en relación con una densidad del género antes de la activación, siendo el género configurado para soportar un alargamiento elástico del género desde aproximadamente 10% hasta aproximadamente 350% en al menos la dirección de la máquina (DM)o la dirección transversal (DT) del género, y teniendo el género una resistencia a la tracción desde aproximadamente 50 gramos-fuerza/cm2 hasta aproximadamente 5000 gramos-fuerza/cm2.
